Maria Vana is a self-proclaimed maverick going her own way while dedicating her life to the search for her place in the cosmic ocean. She has traversed through the abyss of Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as the challenges of coming to her own and finding a life partner. She has stumbled on the rocks of life to refine her identity as a wife, writer, and generally as a human being.
In her relationships, she ended up marrying her one true counterpart after many storms and a chaotic life. She has settled into the new role of housewife, and uses everything she has learned to craft her many stories.
In all chaos, there is cosmos, in all disorder, a secret order.
Carl Jung
Mrs. Vana is a lifelong literature enthusiast, and in her own writing, she devotes her efforts to exploring the wondrous and queer worlds inside her mind. She has placed in the top 5 for several writing competitions, most notably the Finnish Parliament-organized competition “Black Swans – What will change the world next”. If you’re interested in the dystopian story in question, you may find it HERE, look for The Angel of Death by Milla Pyy, as she had a name change later on in life.
Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They live inside us, and sometimes, they win.
Stephen King
Mrs. Vana currently resides in Finland and enjoys reading, gaming, and talking about the deep secrets of the cosmos with her husband in their urban apartment whenever she is not writing, making art, or developing games.
In late 2020 she created this site as a blog, The Manic Wordsmith, to write and ponder about mental health, writing, marriage, and more. Spring of 2024, she went through a Renaissance of her own and the site has been a hub for her creative whimsy ever since.
