Wow, I’ve got the main cast down!
Soo… There’s not going to be news about the story arc or the exciting amount of variability. I didn’t get there, sorry. But I did get to the Characters, and I now have the main 5 people rather thought out!
It’s the same tune still: loads of work on the freelance side of things, and the current WIP, DA!, takes the cake. The good news is, though, that while DA! still keeps taking most of my free time, the end is nigh for that particular project. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s been such fun to make it, but I’m also itching to move on.
FP: SCaN
What are these magical 5, I hear nobody ask. Well, let me give you a little description of them all, without giving too much away.
Starting from the top-left, we have the core family of the story.
John is the handsome father, the main GOAT, the Player Character. He is the one you will get to explore the world as, triumph or fail. It’ll all be in poor John’s hands, the good, the bad, the bloody.
Jane is the mother, John’s wife and lover. She loves John to death, but can’t quite shake the feeling that something is off. I mean, her husband is rather popular in the theatre. Could he…? No, John wouldn’t cheat on her, never? He couldn’t… Could he?
Jonathan is the love-child of John and Jane. He is about 3 years old, and loves gun-games, fancying himself a sort of cowboy. He is sure to let the family cat, Puddy, know about it. All Jonathan wants is for his parents to keep smiling. But then again, how could a toddler like him fend of this darkness… I know, shoot at it, BANG-BANG!
And then there was Puddy.
Ah, to be a phat cat, chilling by the fireplace, letting the foolish child shepherd me around the house as if it would keep me from going on adventures… You know, the full cat life. But then again, cats, as we know it, have a sacred duty.
When She Comes, and She will come, it is Puddy’s job to fend Her off. Hiss, HISS! Hiss like your life depends on it, Pudster. It very well might. Oh how he wishes John, his oldest friend, would get his shit together. A cat can dream, yes?
The lovely Jezebel
Jezebel. She is quite into our main man, John. I mean, the way he flexes on set, does his own stunts… who wouldn’t be enthralled by such a guy? There’s just one problem. John is married.
Jezebel is quite the character, with her hairless body and a rather masculine frame. She works as a stage-hand in the theatre, and knows her way around tools, if you know what I mean. Usually, she is keeping her head covered with a wig, and her brows drawn like the rest of the trendy folk.
The importance of understanding what’s too much
Only one lesson learned this past month, when talking about side-projects or future projects.
Do not take too many things on your plate.
Yup. That’s it. I realize that I was overly ambitious about doing the story as well this time around. I should’ve gone with one task only for the FP, considering that the WIP should take most of my time anyway. The tasks I do on the FP are more like preparation to hit the ground running when the time comes. And so, I shall take this lesson, learn from it, and keep preparing for the official launch of SCaN work.

Keeping the above statement in mind, I will only give myself one task for SCaN.
Making the Main Story Arc. I have it rather well in mind, already, but I have yet to put it in writing officially. So many notebooks worth of stuff, and nothing on my drive. Drives me nuts, it does. So in the coming weeks, I will work on getting that clarified and streamlined. And If I have time, I will see about the variables, the different paths that can happen due to your (Ahem, I mean John’s) actions.
