Freelancing continues, but that’s not all.

Forgive me, audience, for I have sinned. I have been lazy, very lazy. But more about that later.
This month, I began the process of inking, or rather, doing the line art for DA!. I have progressed, but very little. Besides that, I had many gigs, as they are called on Fiverr, for my linguistic services. I can’t lie, I do like getting paid for the things I do, and that is why the ‘good old honest work’ is higher in the hierarchy than my creative projects. Perhaps one day, I may focus more on the latter.
Now, I could go on a tangent and tell you how tired I am after the work I’ve done, and maybe some of the days it was that. I get fatigued very easily, after all. But truth to be told, I have just been lazy. And addicted. Bloody gamer soul of mine! When I see a game, I think I can easily get to 100% achievements… The trophy-hunter’s rabies catches on, and I will not stop until I am done. So, when I have not been freelancing, I have been gaming.
WIP: DA!

Episode 1 of DA! is progressing ever so slowly. I worked on it on 3/30 days this month, and I must say, I feel terrible. Thankfully, my problems are mostly internal.
I have an ocean of stories and things I wish to bring into the world, to share my inner realms with you all. And the looming sense of mortality and time ticking is very strong in these moments, when I have not worked on the stories I wish to tell. Regardless of the medium, perhaps it is time for me to accept that I can not bring everything I wish into the world. That may just be the key to releasing some of the anxiety I am feeling about this whole thing.
If you are into knowing more about the struggles I have as a creator, drop by the ArtLog. I will talk more about it there.
Art Projects

Despite my lackluster commitment to the comic, I did practice my drawing skills more. I have brand new scribble pages in my sketchbook. Lines, curves, ellipses, rectangles… It would all make a pretty decent abstract art exhibition. At least I think so!
You can check out the pages in the ArtLog. You can also follow me on X to get real-time updates!
Game Dev

As you can guess, I have not touched SCaN much. I have, however, been learning… And I played an illegal amount of Army of Ruin, and Deep Rock Galactic: Survivors. There’s just something about these kinds of reverse bullet hell (bullet heaven?) games that keeps me playing for hours on end.
So while I may not have much exciting news about SCaN, I figured I’d take a moment to analyze Army of Ruin from a Game Designer’s perspective. See what I can learn from it! Check out said baby-dev’s analysis in this month’s DevLog.
What else is going on?

As I get more in tune with the creative space, I notice some concerning trends that go beyond the elitism of the few. There are some legitimate concerns about the amount of AI thieving going on, and I’m not quite sure how to approach that side of the business yet. That is yet another reason why I have taken a step back from Instagram in the past few months.
The thing is, I don’t think I can avoid this side of the art industry should I truly set foot in it. Right now, I am a nobody, so I don’t have to worry too much. But those who are decent at their art form are almost certain to be pirated at some point. That being said, we can’t really be afraid of the ghost of thieving wretches, can we now?
I think this coming month, I will try and begin the process of centralizing everything to the website, even if at some point we decide to close it. Expenses, you know. And the value of the dollar has gone down lately, yikes!
I think that’s all for now. If you’d like to hear from me between these monthly updates, do follow me on X – that’s where I lurk most of the time when not neck deep in games!
