Secret workings in the writing realm

As we can observe, I have not put much effort into writing this past period. Most of my wordsmithing comes from all the notes I have scribbled down while I’ve been learning, as well as my journal. Well, if I am being completely honest, about half of the words come from the journal. I usually write one page a day, which amounts to roughly 100 words. 28 days mean 2,800 words out of the total miscellaneous of 5,344.
For the WIP, I only wrote about 750 words, and it isn’t content… Instead, it is plotting! You may have wondered what the ‘secrets’ are about, and this random post’s worth of scribbles helps me with them. Now, for obvious reasons, I can’t tell you much about what is happening, but (legendary last words) trust me, this will make my writing efforts more aligned with my natural talent.
WIP: Rialar

As I mentioned in the February News, Rialar is going to go through some changes. The new thoughts we have about how to do it have now solidified, and all that remains is to implement them. All and all, I feel that this new way of looking at the story will solve many problems I had with it, including the freaky flashback within a flashback situation! I’m telling you right now, those monstrous scenes have the potential to make even a seasoned reader scratch their head in bafflement. That is if I don’t do what we have planned for it!
This new way of, let’s say, producing the story will also help with my other weaker writing skills while leaning on my strengths. I’m also confident that once I manage to lock in the model of this new way, it will aid significantly with my art skills, as well as the profitability/sustainability of this whole journey.
Website Updates!

Last month I talked about the possibility of taking out the Shorts, which I have now done. While I enjoyed the thought of having a hub of stories here on my site, I feel I have severely overestimated my resources and goals. So, I must take a step back and look at the facts – The site will likely never be the main source of profit for my escapades.
But Mrs. V, you are an artist, a writer! How dare you talk of profits?!
Well, my friend, everyone needs to live. And while my husband does a phenomenal job at providing us a rather comfortable life, I’d like to help him if I can. Take a load off, so to speak. That means that while I adore the creative journey, I must be realistic about it too. And money… Money makes the world go around, especially now that Europe as a whole seems to be intent on driving itself to the depths of depression.
If I must learn to ‘run’ this side of the Vana family enterprise, I shall do so with all that I have. I am my husband’s wife, his helpmeet, after all! And may VanaVerse rain gold upon us all.
Art Projects

Here’s a secret I can share – I have actually dabbled in assets before this project. Afterall, I’ve made various projects as I keep learning Game Development. This project, however, is very different. It is more traditional. Not pixel art. But then again, I now have the tools to do any kind of art, without the hassle of paper!
This particular set of clothing assets comes with a simplistic, easy-to-replicate style. Perfect for a noob in all things cloth and game assets! Let me tell you, touching up existing things (for personal use, of course), re-modeling the body my husband provided by adding a bosom and nether regions… And fixing up some existing items that are not up to standard – all of this has helped me get into the groove with this massive undertaking!

Game Development

Most of my time regarding Game Development goes into preparing for the eventual first true project. As such, I don’t have much to report, other than that I have finally locked in the project I wish to work on when the time comes.
Also, look at that mockup! I made it for the snowboarding game I scripted as a learning project. Isn’t it cool?
In the March DevLog, I will share a rather silly story of my childhood escapades with DOS. Who knew that // was all about directories and other such control commands?
In short
Look forward to more art, as that is the main project I am currently working on. I have about 13 outfits to make, and that’s without the possibility of hairstyles! Though I think I may just finish Rialar before taking on the hairs, as I am itching to work on it and to finish it at last!
Other than that, I will see about finishing the Computer Science course I’ve been watching. You should check it out, it’s very enlightening. Especially if you don’t have previous experience in learning the basics properly before hopping straight into the hell that is logic and code! (Psst. It’s on YouTube, for free.)
